Getting ready for birth

• Midwife is on-call for you, 24/7, from 37 to 42 weeks

• Labor support, in your home, once active labor starts. This can be as hands off or hands on as you need or desire.

• All equipment and supplies are provided

• Support during birth. Also, as hands off or hands on as you need or desire.

• Immediate skin-to-skin and space held for bonding and breastfeeding.

• Management of any complications that arise, including herbal and pharmaceutical options as needed.

Beginning with care when you're trying to conceive or in the first trimester

• Free initial consultation to meet and get to know each other

• An hour and a half initial appointment

• Hour long prenatal appointments every month until 28-32 weeks, then twice a month until 36 weeks, then weekly until birth

• Prenatal visit in your home around 36 weeks

• Lab services and ultrasound orders available

• Education and support throughout your pregnancy

• Children and family are welcome at all appointments!

• Education and support with breastfeeding and newborn care

• Clean up and tub take down after birth

• Initial newborn assessment and normal newborn follow-up care

• Vitamin K and erythromycin available as desired.

• First postpartum visit is in your home between days 2 and 3

• Filing of birth certificate

• Newborn metabolic screen and critical congenital heart defect screen performed

• Second postpartum visit in your home around 1 week

• Third postpartum visit in your home around 3 weeks

• Comprehensive postpartum visit in the office around 6 weeks
